It is that time of the year again where we have a lovely four day weekend ahead of us thanks to the Easter holidays. Whether you are celebrating Easter for religious reasons or it’s just the Easter bunny bringing chocolate goodies to the kids we can all admit a four day weekend is something we can all take advantage of. With the weather being so pleasant to us for the past couple of weeks we are hoping it will carry on through the weekend. According to BBC Weather in London the temperature will remain at around 15°C/16°C which as we all know, living here in the UK that is more than enough for us to be outside soaking up every little bit of sun even if there is light cloud too.
To get us in the mood for one of the most delectable annual holidays here are some interesting facts about Easter:
> Every child in the UK receives an average of 8.8 Easter eggs every year – double their recommended calorie intake for a whole week.
> 80 million chocolate Easter eggs are sold each year. This accounts for 10% of Britain’s annual spending on chocolate!
> When people gorge on a chocolate Easter bunny, 76 per cent bite off the ears first, 5 per cent go for the feet and 4 per cent opt for the tail.
> In 2007, an Easter egg covered in diamonds sold for almost £9 million.
> The famous ‘crocodile’ finish that you see on Easter eggs came from Germany and was originally designed to cover up any minor imperfections in the chocolate.
Here at CDS everyone seems to have something different planned for their long weekend so whatever it is you have planned we hope you have a great time doing it!
