Is your PI at risk?

01 Oct 2017   |   Ani Radountcheva   |   0 Comments

‘Official’ searches can sometimes be perceived as the best type of local search, but is that really true?

Why do we still have this perception? Is it mainly because the Local Authority tell us so?

So if we told you that a growing number of Local Authorities are including a disclaimer in the back of their search results to say that the information contained within their searches cannot be expressly relied upon and neither will the local authority be held responsible for any errors or omissions contained within them……still believe they are ‘better’?

Consider also that as Executive Members of our regulatory body (CoPSO) that our Local Authority Searches come with Insurance to cover you and the new homeowner, in the event that a mistake is made by us OR if incorrect information is provided by the local authority.

Unlikely as either of these events are, why take the risk that if a mistake does happen that the person you are relying on to put the problem right will wash their hands of the error and refer you to their disclaimer…….not with CDS.

Still think ‘Official’ searches are better?
