There’s been a choppy end for a couple in Buckinghamshire who bought a property in 2006 and spent £1.5 million into transforming it into their dream home. Sadly being based next to Denham Aerodrome has meant that this couple has faced years of roaring helicopter blades; not exactly the idealistic bliss they were hoping for.
Initially the air field noise was manageable and the general aviation use of the field was reasonable. However with the helicopter manoeuvres which occur on a special training 'slope,' the racket has been disturbing and impossible to live with.
With garden pottering and afternoon tennis parties having been disrupted, the couple decided enough was enough.
Putting the house on the market, they’ve now faced a new problem with no buyers willing to take the desirable yet deafening property off their hands. Celebrities Tess Daly and Vernon Kay, were initially keen on the property, however the noise has diminished any happy ever afters at the home.
For all homebuyers, the ecstatic feeling of being settled should be a lifelong feat, not just something for the foreseeable future.
