2015 World Rowing Cup
CDS are proud sponsors of Will Satch. Will is an Olympic medallist and part of the GB rowing team men’s eight.
This weekend Will was in Varese, Italy at the 2015 World Rowing Cup where he and his team mates managed to gain World Cup revenge over the German eight.
The men’s eight was an exhilarating race, the crew having to accelerate through Germany in the last 200 metres to claim their gold medals, with a rampaging rhythm to which their rivals had no answer.
“I wish we’d led for longer, but we did it in the end,” stroke Will Satch said. The cox Henry Fieldman said: “Beating the Germans is a good gauge of how well our training is going.”
The British and German eights will renew rivalry at the Henley Royal Regatta next week in the Grand Challenge Cup.
The GB rowing team finished the World Cup top of the medal table with five golds, a silver and four bronzes.
Sir David Tanner, GB Rowing Team Performance Director, said: “We have had some exceptional performances and this has been another good step on our path to the Olympic qualifying regatta later in the summer."
GB crews will next be in World Cup action in Lucerne, Switzerland, from July 10-12.
We will keep you updated on how Will and his team mates get on at these events.
